Özgür Sarı

Prof. Dr. Özgür Sarı was born in Bolu-Turkey in 1980 and he studied Sociology at Middele East Technical University in Ankara between 1998-2002. He achieved Master of Science degreein Political Science and Public Administartion in 2004 at Middle East Technical University. Then he got his PhD degree in Sociolgy at the same university in 2010. He worked at several universities in Turkey, as Selçuk University-Konya, Aksaray University, TODAIE –Ankara, Health Sciences University – Istanbul. Now he is a Sociology Professor at Sinop University and head of the Sociology Department.

He had Korean Government resrach scholarship (NIIED) and he conducted his PhD research at Seoul National University, and in Japan with JAICA scholarship. He worked as researcher at the projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forest and the Municipalities about sectoral water allocation, watershed management, drought action, and specail provision on dams. He knows English, and German. He had academic publications on family, social tranformation and development in Turkey, South Korea, Japan, and Syria, criminology, sociology of health, and urban studies.
